In the spring, it is important to stop your cats hunting the baby birds in your garden. These will be weaker, and if caught will need caring for (read out article on caring for injured birds).

Here are our top tips for entertaining your cat:

• Play with your cat using string, catnip mice or plastic balls
• Keep your cat inside for the day, then let them out at night
• Adopt an indoor cat
• Be prepared to carry your cat indoors
